Welcome to our Care & Maintenance Guide. Formiing furniture is designed with high-quality materials and refined craftsmanship to elevate your space. To preserve the beauty, structural integrity, and longevity of your pieces, follow these essential care guidelines tailored to each material.
General Care
- Always follow any care instructions included with the specific product.
- Products made from natural materials will have unique colour and surface variations that celebrate their authentic origin.
- Always use mild cleaning agents—never use harsh or chemical cleaning products.
- Avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight or next to direct heat sources. UV rays can fade fabrics and finish colours over time.
- Maintain a consistent interior humidity and temperature. Extreme fluctuations can cause solid wood to warp or split and leather to dry out.
- Always protect surfaces against direct heat, humidity, and strongly coloured items using coasters, trivets, or placemats.
- Unless items are explicitly approved for outdoor use, they are meant for indoor use only and should never be used outdoors.
- Always lift furniture when moving it—never drag or push pieces across floors to protect both the furniture frame and your flooring.
Wood & Veneer
Clean surfaces regularly using a clean, dry cloth or a cloth wrung out in clean water. Blot spills immediately with a clean, damp cloth and wipe dry. Never rub, as this can press moisture into the grain. Avoid abrasive pads, wax build-up polishes, silicone sprays, and ammonia-based cleaners.
Fabric Upholstery
Vacuum frequently on medium power. Remove wet stains by carefully dabbing with a lint-free cloth or sponge wrung in warm detergent-free water. Use only mild, water-based cleaners if necessary, testing first on an inconspicuous area. Make sure to dry the fabric fully before use.
For deep cleaning or persistent stains, we recommend professional dry cleaning.
Category 1
Remix 3 — An elegant upholstery textile distinguished by exceptional depth of colour, designed by Giulio Ridolfo. The textile features a tight, minimalistic weave, and derives its lively colour play from a combination of two different mélange yarns, which each combine up to three hues.
Category 2
Re-wool 2 — An upholstery textile designed by Margrethe Odgaard woven with 45% recycled wool.
Steelcut 3 — An evolution of the archetypal woollen upholstery textile Steelcut, which comes in bright, confident hues by colour master Giulio Ridolfo. It is characterised by exceptional durability, tactility, and colour depth.
Steelcut Trio 3 — A hardwearing woollen upholstery textile with the same construction as Steelcut. The three-dimensional surface of Steelcut Trio resembles small pyramids or steel points. Despite the complexity of the textile’s innovative weave, it has a simple, precise expression.
Category 3
Hallingdal 65 — The very durable upholstery fabric was originally designed in 1965 by Nanna Ditzel. Made of wool and viscose, which complement each other well: the wool provides excellent durability and flexibility, whilst the viscose adds brilliance and depth to the colour. Both materials are dyed before they are spun, which highlights the rich texture of the fabric.
Harald 3 — A closely-woven, very short-pile velour, comes in a new colour palette conceived by Raf Simons offering a particularly large selection of vivid keynote tones. Frequent vacuuming, immediate stain treatment, and directional pile management. Aggressive friction, high heat, and heavy moisture will permanently damage or distort the velvet pile.
Category 4
Vidar 4 — Originally designed by Fanny Aronsen, Vidar has been re-coloured by Raf Simons. Tightly woven, Vidar has an inviting texture, which variously recalls blackberries, orange peel or the comforting close-knit texture of a favourite sweater.
Planum — A knitted upholstery textile with a refined woven expression and a smooth, soft surface.
Category 5
Uniform Melange — A knitted upholstery textile designed by Febrik’s experienced in-house design studio. Smooth and comfortable, it offers an extensive colour range and good stretchability. When applied to furniture, Uniform Melange fits organic shapes without any resistance. Furthermore, due to the textile’s inherent stretch properties, seams are reduced to a bare minimum.

Glass & Mirror Surfaces
Wipe clean with a soft microfiber cloth. For deeper dirt, apply a mild glass cleaner directly to a microfiber cloth (rather than spraying directly onto the glass) to protect surrounding frames and materials. Avoid steel wool, abrasive sponges, or acid-based cleaners. Always use coasters and soft felt bases under objects set on glass surfaces to prevent scratching.
Metals (Powder-Coated, Stainless Steel & Brass)
Wipe clean with a soft microfiber cloth. For deeper dirt, use warm water mixed with a mild, gentle liquid soap and dry thoroughly immediately after. Avoid steel wool, abrasive sponges, or acid-based cleaners that can scratch protective coatings or polished finishes.
